Do Indian students can get Driving license? If yes then what are the documents necessary and do US authorities need the license from students of their home country?

Yes you can and you will need different things in different states. Go to DMV.gov You will need to take our test and study our driving laws, but they aren't that hard.

At a minimum you'll need your passport and visa. Most states will issue a non-renewable license, assuming you can pass the test, that expires at the same time the visa expires.

Yes. You would need to take your passport along with you to show as photo id proof. Also carry your I94 along with you, since that would show your tenure in the US. Finally you would get the DL issued till the date of validity as shown on your visa. If you have your indian driving license along with you, then you will get a Temp-driving-license where-in you can drive in the US by yourself, with no accompaniment. If you dont have an indian DL along with you, then you will get issued a temp-driving-permit which allows you to drive, when you are accompanied by an authorised US DL holder
