I don't think that is allowed. Maybe a week or 2 weeks in advance before the school start date indicated on the I-20. Check with the consulate/embassy though.

INDIAN PARTY- For our Junior prom, student council wants to base the theme around India, but we need a title?
We have a loose idea of what we want it to look like but we need a title for the evening, something like Moon over Mumbai, or anything really. We don't want Bollywood or Morroco, we're trying to be like exotic and classy but bright colors.

Is he legal to work in the US? If so, then he can apply for chemistry jobs in industry. He absolutely should be able to find a chemist job here, with his qualifications. He could apply to companies that are in the same industry as the company he'd worked for in India, as well as to companies in other industries. Companies that hire chemists include companies such as Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, Akzo Nobel, Johnson & Johnson, Abbott Laboratories, Novartis, Becton Dickinson, Repligen, and many others. Many of these companies, such as Sherwin Williams, need chemists *now* - they are actively hiring. He could go to their websites to find out what jobs are on offer. He should also go to monster.com and do a search. He may have belonged to a professional chemists society in India. He should join the one in the US. They'll have job listings, as well as networking events that he can attend to meet people and look for jobs.

I am not sure what exactly you want to know. Please elaborate more. You want to know the significance in general or during death?
2 :
What do you mean by this? give more details to get an exact answer. By the way Bananas don't symbolize Indian culture. It is one of the major fruit consume in the southern part of India & is one of the main offerings to gods in Southern India!

Is it safe for a white-american college student to study abroad in the middle east or india?
Is it safe for a white-american college student to study abroad in the middle east or india?
I'm a college student who would love to study in this part of the world. In particular the cities of: Istanbul, Delhi, Dubai, or Riyadh. Is going to any of these places safe for study abroad? focus: Civil Engineering and Arabic.

Completely safe. My opinion is that Saudi Arabia would be safer.
2 :
My cousin studied in india, a lot of white american students do. However she had to come home because she had dysintery, be sure to boil everything. I would not reccomend the middle east except for israel, it is not safe. Do not get mixed up with the middle east, and don't study arabic, you dont no what your getting yourself into.
3 :
I think it depends what country you're going to but really from what my history teacher told me you should be fine. Everyone makes a big deal out of the middle east like they are the worst ppl in the world but in reality many news stations are very biased and exaggerate. The middle east is beautiful and I think it would be a great experience to study in a different country not just to learn about the country and the culture but just to be on your own and independent. Good luck in deciding : ) and in college!
4 :
don't know if I would agree w. M.D., the 9/11 terrorists were Saudi Arabians; and assuming that an American would be "completely safe" may not be the case at a minimum, check the State Department warnings for particular countries; however, conditions may change within a short time period
5 :
Yeah of course. Maybe not the Middle East so much but India, definitely you'll be okay.
6 :
IN THE MIDDLE EAST YOU COULD BE KIDNAPED/KILLED BY SOME BAKALA-BAKALA SPEAKING TERRORISTS... IN INDIA YOU COULD BE ADDICTED TO CURRY AND BOLLYWOOD!!! YOUR CHOICE:)

Visa question - Indian Student in US, Want to visit London on the way to India?
Visa question - Indian Student in US, Want to visit London on the way to India?
Hi, I am a student at the USA On a F1 visa. I am planning to visit London on my way home (Chennai) on my way home and wanted to know the visa procedure. 1. What visa should I take for a 3 day visit - Transit or visitor? 2. Can I mail my passport to the UK consulate in US to procure the visa? Or should I attend an appointment with the consulate? Thanks in advance

1. You need to apply for a general visitor visa (tourist). 2. In order to do so you need to fill the application and pay the visa fee online. http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/Welcome.htm .. When doing this you will get an appointment at one of the 129 USCIS Application Support Centers where your biometric data and fingerprints will be taken. After that you will need to mail your visa application package, together with the biometric enrollment certificate and your passport to one of the three UK Border Agency visa processing centers in the United Kingdom which are co-located with the UK consulates at Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York. If your application is straightforward you will get your passport with the visa back by mail; if it is questionable you may be invited for a personal interview. http://ukinusa.fco.gov.uk/en/visas/ ..
