Indian National do require a transit visa for UK, refer to DATV list of the Uk Border Agency.

Whether you will be granted leave to remain for 24 hours depends on the discretion of the UK Border Agency Officer. India is on the list of Direct Airside Transit Visa (DATV) nationals which even require a visa if they stay within the International Airport of a British airport. .. http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/doineedvisa/visadatvnationals .. This visa requirement is however exempted under certain circumstances; one of these is holding a valid U.S. visa and a flight ticket. Based on this exemption you may be granted a 24 hours visa free transit. ..http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply/infs/inf20transit#Q6 .. A transit without visa is in general granted if a passenger arrives at another London airport than he/she departs from. Since your purpose of stay is not transit but tourist visit the Border Agency Officer may either grants you to leave the airport as an exception or deny your request since there is no actual need for it and you may stay in the transit zone. Just give it a try! I would not go ahead and apply for a visitors visa in advance; £46 for just a couple of hours is a waste of money.

How to apply for a student visa to France from India??
I would be doing an exchange program in France for about 4 months. I am supposed to apply for my visa from Chennai, India. I am little confused about VFS and Campus France. I had gone through both the websites. They both seem to be different agents and am not quite clear about the procdure. Can somebody who has done this before, advice me please.

You have to go to french embassy

The best is to go the French embassy or consulate with all the documents proving that you have been accepted on an exchange program. Typically, a document from the French institution would be best.

Cn anyone tell me about off campus distance courses that an undergraduate student in India can do?
I'm from India and want to do undergraduate business course off campus, that is through the internet, from a good American university. Could anyone tell me about such programs offered and if any are for free?

You might want to consider a Canadian university rather than an American university. Athabaska University in Alberta offers a highly regarded business program, also an MBA, all on line. Students interact with student groups from around the world, all time zones, and the reports I've gotten are very positive. You'd have to check the tuition on line. Certainly not for free, though.

I don't think that is allowed. Maybe a week or 2 weeks in advance before the school start date indicated on the I-20. Check with the consulate/embassy though.

INDIAN PARTY- For our Junior prom, student council wants to base the theme around India, but we need a title?
We have a loose idea of what we want it to look like but we need a title for the evening, something like Moon over Mumbai, or anything really. We don't want Bollywood or Morroco, we're trying to be like exotic and classy but bright colors.
