Suggest me a good laptop for final year comp engg student in india?
I am a final year computer engg student at Mumbai University (MU, India)...I am gonna be moving to stay at a rented room near my college for my final 8th semester..so I am gonna be needing a laptop / netbook..i'm giving some specs here..please suggest me a good one..as I am not good with brands.. HDD: upto 200GB RAM 2GB (more would be good in the price range i want, but 2GB ho toh bhi chalega..or other option is, i can guy with 1GB and then upgrade it to 2GB, which i believe would be slightly cheaper) budget: upto 30K (slight upgrade might be possible) wi-fi: needed USB ports: 3-4 (i believe most laptops do offer these many) OS: Win7 (I believe most laps do give an option to upgrade from default "home basic" to "professional") DVD writer drive : needed battery life: i am actually a first-timer laptop buyer...so dont know much abt it..but going by the stds i have seen so far..i wud prefer a 6-8 battery life.. my usage: pretty basic actually...word docs..ppts..internet / mail / porn..Tennis gaming (Tennis elbow 2011)...project work (my project requires me to use Java WordNet Library JWNL..) also we have a subject in out final sem called "multimdeia sys design" for practicals of which i would need some decent graphics like maya s/w (dats wat is in the syllabus..i dont know much abt it actually..)will it be significant factor in terms of performance?? "high end" video card: i dont know if i need one...please read my usage and tell me if its needed..i dont think it is needed.. please if possible comment on the customer service of the brands that you are gonna be suggesting....thanks in advance ALSO...plz suggest me if i really need a laptop..or a netbook would be enuf for my needs..as some info, i have specs due to which i am a lil apprehensive dat it might be difficult to adjust to the small screen size of a netbook...as i said, i have never used a lappy b4...so if u have specs and have no problem using a netbook..plz clear me on this..i wud really appreciate that.) thanks..:)

I would prefer a netbook with your choices. I am an engineering student too. I use the ACER 532h 2Bb. And it has no problem running CAD softwares like AUTOCAD 2006 & Catia v5 r16....
