A student opted for Bio-Chemistry in Tamil nadu(India) and how can the student............?
A student opted for Bio-Chemistry in Tamil nadu(India) and how can the student............?
The student has subjects as follows : Phy, Che, Bio-chemistry, Zoology and language(English). Now can the student aim for Doctor(M.B.B.S) or ENGINEERING as she has no mathematics ? The course was newly introduced in tamil nadu at STANES school of HSC (Coonoor,Tamilnadu India). Now the student has completed 12th std this year... Can the student aim for Doctor(M.B.B.S) or ENGINEERING even though she has no mathematics...? All the bio-chemistry students do not have mathematics there and i do not know about situations in other places. The student wants to go for Doctor. or an Engineer. Is it possible. Inside Tamilnadu . Any Genuine Suggessions/Help/Idea.......from experts Please and people from Tamil nadu(mostly welcome as they would be familiar with it). Any idea about Vocational candidate...and does the student need to write any Entrance examination(Where, How and Why?)

Normally a student opts for Bio-Chemistry, only if he/she plans to try for an M B B S [Medicine], a B Sc Ag [Agriculture], or a B V Sc [Veterinary Science] Degree. Mathematics is not necessary for any of these courses. ...As of now, all chances of applying for an Engineering Course are blocked out. If she insists on studying Engineering at all costs, the only alternative would be for her to appear privately again, for her 12th Standard exams - with Maths as her option ! This would involve the loss of at least 1 academic year, plus the costs of private tutions in a totally NEW subject with which she is totally unfamiliar. ...I learn that there is still a lot of confusion in Tamil Nadu - concerning whether or not to conduct Entrance Exams for Professional Degree Courses. The local daily newspapers would be your best source, for the latest developments. ...Private Medical Colleges like the Christian Medical College, Vellore, separately conduct their own Entrance Tests - which are of an objective type, but really tough. The relevant details can all be found in their Application Form itself.
2 :
No there is no chance to study engineering as such But he can opt to study medicine,it is worth studying it But I would say that the decision should have been taken already (I am from Ooty)

International Student from India...Parents refusing to pay for US education?
International Student from India...Parents refusing to pay for US education?
Hi...please dont be rude. I am a HS student in India. I have had an exceptionally good academic record and i have applied to many US universities. The problem is that i dont go along too well with my parents reg this aspect. My father's a doctor and wants me to become one and IN THE SAME COLLEGE AS HIM... thats frustrating...and US colleges require a financial declaration showing about $32000 in Liquid...i have the amount in Fixed deposit, bequeathed by my grandfather...but i dont know if colleges accept that. And my mom's not helping either because she feels i may abandon the family if i immigrate in future. It is possible for my dad to file the affidavit but he doesn't want to...because i wanna go into research...and i had a major manic depression thing in the last year, attempted suicide...I just wanna get away from these people i am forced to call family. Colleges wont give me decisions until i show the money, nor can i get a visa...banks in our country wont issue loans until i show proof of admission...i am frustrated... And the deadline is just less than a month away...my life is devastated ;( P.S TOEFL iBT...102/120 my parents still didnt bother to ask why i took the test... Please God dont give children to ppl who dont deserve them...

If you have fixed assets then you will have to sell those assets to have the required liquid assets. There is no way around it since clearly the banks will not give you a loan until you are enrolled in a college, and you cannot enrol in college until you can show them you have cash assets. Don't give up. Life is too precious. We all have to deal with parents who can stand in our way. If you can, sell your fixed assets. This will open the door to freedom for you. Hope this helps.

Lesbian american student okay in India? (How conservative is India?)?
Lesbian american student okay in India? (How conservative is India?)?
I'm going to be in India for a year, in either Pune, Maharashta state or Ahmedabad, Gujarat state, studying art. I'm a lesbian, and I was wondering if this will be a problem for the culture, like something I shouldn't bring up, or if either of the cities are welcoming of LGBT people.

For what I gather from my Indian friends, it's culturally acceptable, as long as it isn't your child. Edit: I read this from wiki. Pretty interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality_in_India
2 :
I don think there are many lesbians in india.....Just don tell anyone you're les
3 :
I am an indian. Lesbians are not common in india. It is considered something abnormal, so no one openly accepts it. Since it is not accepted in the society, it is better for you to keep it a secret, if not, there will be difficulty in getting apts. for rent and rooms in the hostel. You may have problem if you let them know or try to practise it in india. Sorry,we are not that open minded yet. savithri
4 :
India is a conservative country. Things like this are still to be accepted. In other words, it is something that you really should keep to yourself. Sorry, but India is just not that open minded yet. It is still a crime in some places to be lesbian or gay.
5 :
Why take your western bad habits to India where they certainly will not be appreciated. India is a spiritual country and you should observe a little decorum instead of flaunting yourself in this way. Never heard the saying When in Rome do as the Romans do ? Gay rights POOH!!!
6 :
Well.. i agree with the other answers! India is much too conservative to talk openly about sex , forget about being a gay/lesbian! Its better to keep it to yourself !
7 :
I don't agree with the others. There are a lot of closet lesbians....... you'll find lots in college hostels.
8 :
Hi People in India do not openly and easily accept a different sexuality but there are plenty of support groups among which is one which helps with housing/accomodation. It is on yahoogroups and called GHAR (not sure of its expansion, check it out). Hope you have a pleasant stay here. menonasha@rocketmail.com

What about music and dance. You have not given any option or interest. Visit NSE website and study the Financial Management in Shares - www.amfiindia.com. It may be interesting regarding the coinage system - investments and its growth - Monetary Valuation and - How the National Economy can make an end to Humanity on earth.
