i want to study medicine in india as an international student...i am from canada?
i want to study medicine in india and then come back to canada for my specialization ( MD) there are a lot of reason for that : a. it is very hard and competitive in canada b. my parents want me to move to india with them c. it will only take me 5 years in india...while it will take me 8-9 years in canada. can anyone who has gone to india as an international student/know someone who is doing it in india answer this question? what is the process to come back and practice here? how long does it take??

If you get a medical degree in India....and then come back to Canada to practice....it can take YEARS to get accreditation/a license here. Have you ANY idea of the number of graduates from Indian/Pakistani medical schools who are driving cabs in Toronto? --- scores of them! Not a good idea to train in India and then come back here!

The entry requirements for a country is based on your country of citizenship, not country of residence. An as Indian citizen, you have different rules that apply than if you were a US citizen. All the information you need can be found on the website of the Germany Embassy in India, which is linked below.

Tourist visa to Germany and a valid passport.

Engineering College for UP (India) based student?
Engineering College for UP (India) based student?
My cousin (lives in a small city of Uttar Pradesh) will be taking IIT- JEE and AIEEE, My question is which other exam should he take considering he can get admission to some good government engineering college. I could not understand the privatization of Eng colleges in India, when I did my engg from a REC(happens to be out of the state), I took three exams, IIT, Roorkee and UP REC( then in Allahabad). So my preference(suggestion) is a government based college by entrance exam rather than on the basis of money. Thanks

Get a bank loan or find a job and when u get enough money open ur business

A bank is the best place to start, many other lending company's charge extreme rates of interest and some have morally questionable methods of recouping their losses such as injuring defaulting clients.

Your a student - forget it, your in no position to repay so in this current financial climate, lenders would be crazy to lend anything to you.

hi all, is there any way for ninth grade student in USA transition to a school in India? what are pain points?
Has someone relocated to India when their child was in ninth or tenth grade? Schools in India have subjects like History, civics etc which maybe greek and latin for the children studying in US schools. Is it a viable option for these children to finish off school in India? do the Indian schools accept these children in tenth grade? Any inputs will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have not had experience with the educational system in India. However, I have from Columbia, SA to the United States. They would look at the students transcripts and the type of classes they had completed. If they were equitable they could continue on to next level classes. If, instead, they had not met the standard for their class level in India, they could be held back a year. GBYou

As you are of legal age, you are under the purview of the taxman. The question arises as to how you're going to finance the car. Obviously, you are not going to be eligible for a loan. In which case, the money is either yours through inheritance (for which you should have paid inheritance/estate tax) or through trust (no tax) or through a gift. Gift tax can be charged to the person who 'gifts' you the car/money. However, if you/your family have declared yourself to be a HUF (Hindu Undivided Family) then taxation rules are different. Best to spend INR 500 and get the legal advice from a tax lawyer or the opinion of a Chartered Accountant. As you can afford INR 660,000, this money would be well spent.

Moving to England is very hard as they will not let you into the country if you are there to get a job. When they ask "business or pleasure?" when you get off the plane. Say "pleasure" otherwise you won't be let in.

Movies are not real life. They do not represent reality. Don't assume that something you see in an American movie has much to do with the way people really live in the US. I can't speak for everyone, but you'd better believe that I studied hard and attended all of my classes. My university was very demanding. Students there went to class.
2 :
No - it is not true. Movies so not represent reality accurately. Do not assume just because the movies show it, it isn't real. Bollywood has music sequences every 5-10 minutes, but Indians don't sing and dance all day.

Why should I as a student lose my chance of attending my dream university in USA?
I am an international student from India. I have got admission in 5 universities out of 7 i have applied to and i am still counting on the other two. My best admit is IIT Chicago. I want to know why people at embassies reject student visas. It gives a life-time opportunity to study at best university in USA and I should be allowed to fulfill my dream of obtaining a MS degree from state-of-the-art institution. What are the major causes on which they reject students.

In my humble opinion, you shouldn't lose your chance to attend a University that accepts you for admission. However, unfortunately right now, international students are having a very difficult time coming & staying in the United States with all of the immigration/visitation concerns since the 9/11 attacks. American universities are asking the same question as you are. Hopefully the policies of this government will change enabling you to come here for education. Good luck to you!

I know...I've asked before...Student Visa from India...?
Can anyone tell me anything? Don't worry - it'll all be known on Thursday and I'll stop asking. I know no one can tell me if he'll get it or not...but I'm SO dang nervous. I mean...if you meet all the qualifications (he has about 3 times as much money as is required plus sources of ongoing income...he has LOTS of ties to India - family, land, a business he owns and he's already been accepted and has his I-20)...it should be fairly easy - RIGHT??? I've heard so many stories...anyone ACTUALLY got a student visa from India (especially Delhi) that can tell me what it was like? What are some of the interview questions? Does age matter? (he's 35). Does it matter if he's not been in school much since high school? Sigh...sorry folks...just bear with me another couple days...the encouragement I've gotten here has REALLY REALLY helped!! Anything you can tell me will really be great! THANKS!!!!!

Yes you should be nervous. Especially if you are getting him over here just to marry him. I seen your other question and couldnt resist answering this one. I hate to sound mean but i hate people like you because you make it hard for the people who do things legally. And file a normal fiance visa first then do all the marriage stuff the way it is suppose to be done. And you call yourself a christian!!
2 :
I must say, I am also a little confused - you are repeatedly asking about and saying how nervous you are about this guy getting a student visa, and how much money he has and looking for encouragement, then you say you are planning to marry him as soon as he gets here and that he doesn't have very much money... make up your mind! And the other answerer is right - here you are trying to lie to get him in the country so you can marry him and avoid the legal process - now you know why it is so difficult for people to get visas from the embassies - the applicants are always lying! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF - some Christian!
3 :
I think you are not going to be liking the answers here. In Schengen countries, people are always trying the same thing - they are always so much smarter than the law and the government. Across the world, India is seen as a land of fraud. I will not be surprised to learn that the US embassy sees through your scheme and his is denied a visa. This is as it should be. If you think he is so in love with you (and this is what, an Internet romance? You have never been with him?) then tell him you will fly to India to spend your life with him - see how fast he runs from you! I add this - you are newly divorced and lonely and vulnerable - an easy target for a man who wants immigration assistance from half way around the globe. I do not wish to be a cruel person - only to warn you to protect yourself - think all of this through and see the reality of it.
4 :
Allow me to weigh in. The breakdown of any society begins when individuals quit working for the good of all, and start working around and against society for their own personal wants and perceived needs. This is a classic case. The proverbial cards are stacked against your fellow, and for an awfully good reason. I trust that your embassy people will put a stop to this small bit of anarchy. I am gladdened to see others of a like mind.

I am gladdened to see others of a like mind.

Where you finally decide to go based on your concern for Law Practice, should take into consideration the state or in your case National Bar Exams that will license your concern! Yale will dispute being a teacher's course, prepare you for most Law Practices and the contacts you make there could be quite helpful. In Corporate Law however, New York Law School, dispute being a State Institution may be your best choice due to the proximity to Wall Street and the possibilities for internships. Likewise it will best prepare you for that State Bar Exam which is a good Vita plus!
6 :
I presume you're expressing an interest in corporate law because you'd like to work for one of the largest, highest paying law firms in the country. Frankly, the only reason these firms pay $125,000 a year to newly-minted lawyers is because they're expected to often work over 100 hours per week and put up with abuse that would never be tolerated by a lesser-paid person. But if this is what you want, there's only one way to get it. And that is to get admitted into the most prestigious law school that will accept you. The large, corporate law firms receive over 10,000 resumes each year. Recruiters don't have time to peruse all of your qualifications; so they first look for a reason NOT to hire you. And the first thing they'll look at is where you got your degree from. If it didn't come from a top-15 or top-20 law school (as defined each year by US News & World Report), you'll get nothing except a polite rejection letter. Generally speaking, the only exceptions are if you've got an inside connection with someone at the firm (friend, family, etc.), or if you're politically connected. My advice is to apply several (if not all) of the top-20 law schools and hope that one of them admits you. If you get admitted by more than one school, then you have the luxury of being more selective. If you truly possess the credentials to become admitted to Yale, then you are also qualified for admission into Harvard. Yale is traditionally regarded as more laid back, philosophical and academic-oriented; a much higher percentage of Yale Law School graduates go into judicial clerkships, academia, and government positions than graduates of Harvard. Harvard, on the other hand, has a reputation for admitting students that are much more competitive and offers a stronger emphasis on real-world applications. A much higher percentage of HLS graduates go to work for corporate law firms than YLS grads. A search of the biggest firms at www.martindale.com will reveal that almost all of the attorneys in large, corporate firms graduated from law schools ranked in the U.S. News top 20. So if this is truly your goal, then that is where you should start. Good luck.

MIT's website should give you the answers. If you can't find the answers on your own, I don't think you should go there..it is very difficult to graduate because they will try to get everyone kicked out and only the best and luckiest will succeed. And besides, they don't make too much more money than those who graduate from any other respectable university. I'm going into engineering in Florida this year. Good luck, friend....you may really need it.
2 :
Deadlines for application are listed on the MIT website, same with Stanford. There are no exceptions. Apply on time, or forget about it.
3 :
you can give SAT
4 :
Are you applying for undergraduate school or graduate school? If you are doing it for undergraduate then the deadline is around November or December but since you are starting engineering college, then you should be applying as a transfer student after you have done two years.

Your question is to broad to answer. I also do not know what VL SI is - you need to be more explicit in your question. But, there are many thousands of schools in the US, and really, what you need to do is visit the websites of the schools you are interested in. Do a google search on engineering programs to start. As for the GRE exam, visit this website: http://www.ets.org/portal/site/ets/menuitem.fab2360b1645a1de9b3a0779f1751509/?vgnextoid=b195e3b5f64f4010VgnVCM10000022f95190RCRD

Community colleges tend to be very inexpensive - especially compared to private universities. Pick a location, search that location + "community college" and then go to the community college website for an explanation of tuition and fees for out of district students.

depends what type of visa you need. you can get a tourist visa instantly online but that wont allow you to work or study in Australia. I think you should have applied allot earlier than this
2 :
G'day, Ummm... first of all, congratulation on getting an offer in the uni. However, honestly I dun think you can make it for July intake since it may take a few months for student visa processing in India. However things may have improved. I suggest that you follow the link below from the Australian immigration abt how to apply online. However I strongly suggest that you visit/contact the nearest Australian High Comm to make sure of the requirement and length of process. Hope this helps. Good luck on the application and welcome to Australia :)

Yes, visiting their website at www.csfes.org will give you an opportunity to Contact them. Also, the director's email address is DGrijalva@csfes.org. They'll be excited to hear from you, although I know they are not a placement agency. CSFES does advocate for the safety and welfare of all students, so perhaps let them know your daughter know who to contact CSFES during her stay in America. Take good care.
2 :
Yes! I recommend the Committee for Safety of Foreign Exchange Students to get good tips. These ideas come from former exchange students. Also, check out the agency by going to Guidestar and look at who owns the cagency, how much money they make, and who is the Board of Directors
3 :
go to www.csfes.org to find the Committee for Safety of Foreign Exchange Students. This group is not run by the exchange placement agencies so you will get the truth. Read some of the information and it will help you a lot. Also, check out the placement agency's background - go to www.guidestar,org and it is free to sign up, then put in name of the agency, then scroll down the page and look for the 990 forms and click on the 990 form and read who owns the agency, how much money it makes, directors, lots of good information

Detroit is a port of entry. As long as you have a valid F-1 entry visa (the certificate is an I20, the visa is an F-1), you should be able to enter in any city with an International airport. Nothing on the following sites indicats that you must enter the US only in the city where you are attending school, or that travel within the US is restricted. This is a quote from the first site listed (US State Department): Entering the U.S. - Port of Entry A visa allows a foreign citizen coming from abroad, to travel to the United States port-of entry and request permission to enter the U.S. Applicants should be aware that a visa does not guarantee entry into the United States. The Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials have authority to permit or deny admission to the United States. If you are allowed to enter the U.S., the CBP official will determine the length of your visit on the Arrival-Departure Record (Form I-94). Since Form I-94 documents your authorized stay in the U.S., it̢۪s very important to keep in your passport. Student visitors must have their Form I-20 in their possession each time they enter the United States. Upon arrival (at an international airport, seaport or land border crossing), you will be enrolled in the US-VISIT entry-exit program. In addition, some travelers will also need to register their entry into and their departure from the U.S. with the Special Registration program. The Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection internet site offers additional information on Admissions/Entry requirements.

Your friend would need to apply and be accepted to a school here in the United States before they can apply for a visa. So the first step is to look at university websites for information on how to apply for admission as an international student. The whole process will take the best part of eight months, so one should start at least 12 months before they intend to commence their studies here.
