Is he legal to work in the US? If so, then he can apply for chemistry jobs in industry. He absolutely should be able to find a chemist job here, with his qualifications. He could apply to companies that are in the same industry as the company he'd worked for in India, as well as to companies in other industries. Companies that hire chemists include companies such as Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, Akzo Nobel, Johnson & Johnson, Abbott Laboratories, Novartis, Becton Dickinson, Repligen, and many others. Many of these companies, such as Sherwin Williams, need chemists *now* - they are actively hiring. He could go to their websites to find out what jobs are on offer. He should also go to monster.com and do a search. He may have belonged to a professional chemists society in India. He should join the one in the US. They'll have job listings, as well as networking events that he can attend to meet people and look for jobs.

Is it safe for a white-american college student to study abroad in the middle east or india?

Is it safe for a white-american college student to study abroad in the middle east or india?
I'm a college student who would love to study in this part of the world. In particular the cities of: Istanbul, Delhi, Dubai, or Riyadh. Is going to any of these places safe for study abroad? focus: Civil Engineering and Arabic.
Studying Abroad - 6 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Completely safe. My opinion is that Saudi Arabia would be safer.
2 :
My cousin studied in india, a lot of white american students do. However she had to come home because she had dysintery, be sure to boil everything. I would not reccomend the middle east except for israel, it is not safe. Do not get mixed up with the middle east, and don't study arabic, you dont no what your getting yourself into.
3 :
I think it depends what country you're going to but really from what my history teacher told me you should be fine. Everyone makes a big deal out of the middle east like they are the worst ppl in the world but in reality many news stations are very biased and exaggerate. The middle east is beautiful and I think it would be a great experience to study in a different country not just to learn about the country and the culture but just to be on your own and independent. Good luck in deciding : ) and in college!
4 :
don't know if I would agree w. M.D., the 9/11 terrorists were Saudi Arabians; and assuming that an American would be "completely safe" may not be the case at a minimum, check the State Department warnings for particular countries; however, conditions may change within a short time period
5 :
Yeah of course. Maybe not the Middle East so much but India, definitely you'll be okay.
6 :
IN THE MIDDLE EAST YOU COULD BE KIDNAPED/KILLED BY SOME BAKALA-BAKALA SPEAKING TERRORISTS... IN INDIA YOU COULD BE ADDICTED TO CURRY AND BOLLYWOOD!!! YOUR CHOICE:)

Visa question - Indian Student in US, Want to visit London on the way to India?

Visa question - Indian Student in US, Want to visit London on the way to India?
Hi, I am a student at the USA On a F1 visa. I am planning to visit London on my way home (Chennai) on my way home and wanted to know the visa procedure. 1. What visa should I take for a 3 day visit - Transit or visitor? 2. Can I mail my passport to the UK consulate in US to procure the visa? Or should I attend an appointment with the consulate? Thanks in advance
Other - United States - 1 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
1. You need to apply for a general visitor visa (tourist). 2. In order to do so you need to fill the application and pay the visa fee online. http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/Welcome.htm .. When doing this you will get an appointment at one of the 129 USCIS Application Support Centers where your biometric data and fingerprints will be taken. After that you will need to mail your visa application package, together with the biometric enrollment certificate and your passport to one of the three UK Border Agency visa processing centers in the United Kingdom which are co-located with the UK consulates at Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York. If your application is straightforward you will get your passport with the visa back by mail; if it is questionable you may be invited for a personal interview. http://ukinusa.fco.gov.uk/en/visas/ ..

I will be entering into computers engineering branch next year. Hey, but can this web help me out in any respect to get some valuable in any field. I mean suggest me some important sites acadmecially and others. Some more use of this internet. Thanks!

Sorry, this internet is useless. You have to go find some other internets. Ones with bigger tubes and pipes. Good luck and Dog bless.
2 :
Goodluck, for me, im an electrical engineering student. I must say www.wikipedia.net has saved me multiple times. Also there are some online websites that can integrate for you when u punch in the formula. Don't abuse it though, it is only good to use to check your answer, or get an idea of where to start the question. Hope that helps,
3 :
by stop wasting your time using it(internet) and study harder instead.
4 :
Hi.Internet is really very helpful for engg. studies in completing the seminars and projects and also practicals. Here are some famous links:- http://www.findwhitepapers.com/ www.itpapers.com/ http://www.google.com/ Hope this helps...
5 :
Yes it can be valuable. But since it is a medium that requires effective writing skills I would suggest a couple of things. 1) Take a breath before posting because your above post makes no sense. Take your time, use spell checker and check the grammar. If you can, keep taking language course. The computer skills change monthly, the soft skills like language stay with you forever. 2) Returning to the original idea of the internet being useful. Yes it is useful, it just requires one thing to be useful. You. You need to do research and study and ask questions. Too most the internet is just "a series of tubes" or a dating site or yahoo. You are entering into computer science. In ten years, if you make it through engineering, you will become one of the cops or gatekeepers of this network. Because you asked this question and because you want to become a computer science engineer, I'm going to say this. You are going to need a lot more work done to catch up and yahoo answers is not the place to do this. School is, conferences are, IT meetings, card games, more school and to top it off. More school. Goog luck

Yes, it's hard. Knowing the fact that the 2 countries don't get along very well. Indian education system is very close to Pakistani education system. It'd be difficult to obtain a student visa to India, and student visa is only given to the person who'd be actually studying in India. The husband doesn't get a free ticket or a visa to India.
3 :
i stay/study in india and don't see a reason why u should choose india over other places like US/UK/Canada for higher studies? the education system isn't the best here..
4 :
Why would you want to study in India? lol Pakistan has really good universties too. And i highly doubt that India would let a Pakistani in India, maybe you can try? it's better if you go to another country like England or USA. Just my opinion.

Anyone know anything about getting a student visa from India? Especially the interview part...any idea what questions are asked? How long the interview is? Anyone been turned down for weird reasons?

no. it shouldn't be that difficult judging by all of them here in american colleges.
2 :
First get a college to accept you, pay for your course, and show that you have enough funds in the bank to cover the full term of the course, then you should have no problems
3 :
You'll need to apply to a school, get admitted, show that you can pay for your education, then they'll send you an I-20 to be an F-1 student. You'll have to pay the $100 SEVIS fee and make an appointment for a visa interview. At the interview, they'll want to make sure that you're planning to come home after your studies. You can "prove" this to them by showing ties to you home country: such as bank statements, a job waiting for you, family members, girlfriend/boyfriend, etc. They can reject you for many reasons and are required to give you a paper with the reason of denial. If you get denied, tried to fix whatever problem they found in your interview (usually that they didn't believe that you were gonna come back home).
4 :
The interview will take only a few minutes, and the questions will be such that your fellow's scheme will be quickly revealed. The proverbial cards are stacked against him, and for an awfully good reason. I trust that your embassy people will quickly put a stop to this small bit of anarchy. The breakdown of any society begins when individuals quit working for the good of all, and start working around and against society for their own personal wants and perceived needs. This is a classic case.

Never heard about student pilot licences being converted ICAO country to country - Yes, can be done for PPL, and CPL - and maybe for ATPL in India - But to avoid the medical - really ? If you will pursue your pilot training in India, get a Indian licence, pass the medical -
2 :
No way to convert student permit as they are not technically a license. You must get a medical in India and then get a Indian student Pilot permit. You will be able to carry over the hours you earned in Australia to india as long as the hours were logged and certified by your last school / instructor. good luck
3 :
A student pilots' license merely allows you to fly an aircraft under supervision while training. It means nothing, you can get one and must get one, having passed a medical examination. No flying experience is necessary to hold one. They are generally issued by the flying school.

Im 4m India im in U.S with student visa i want to get a green card and settle down here what are all the ways?
I am Bhaarath (22), I am studying in NYFA. I am doing a 3d Animation course. My dad is just a normal man, got a huge Loan and sent me here; his only dream is to see his son (that is me getting settled down here in U.S.). He spent a lot of money for me to come here and study. My course is going to get over, so do my student visa. I really want to get a Green card and settle down here. If I get back to India, The money that I invested will become utter waste. I do not have anyone here in U.S. The main motive that I chose U.S. to study is after my course is over I can somehow work and settle down. What are all the possible ways that I can settle down here in U.S. for sure (100%)? Please help me with answers.

This is not a question for Yahoo. If you want a green card, go to the immigration bureau and find out what you have to do to qualify for one. They are the ONLY people who can answer your question with 100% accuracy. And if you are studying animation, it isn't the end of the world if you return to India. There is a HUGE film industry there, as you well know, so your talents could be put to work back at home.

Yes, you would be applying as a transfer student. You are looking at the hardest major to get into at UCSD. You would need very top grades. See their website for prereqs. It is very difficult to get this admit if you are not a resident of California, numbers of transfers look high because they take a large number of students from California community college as part of a CA state program. It will also cost you almost as much as the top private schools, over $40,000USD per year with no scholarships for international students. Other top BME programs are at Duke, JHU and Stanford. They are also very difficult to get into and cost $50,000 per year. These schools do offer financial aid to very top students though so could be cheaper than UCSD.

Yes. There are a lot of colleges who take international undergraduates. You need to take the SAT and TOEFL at least. Then different schools may require extra tests. They are generally receptive and helpful.

Scholarship with 1490 SAT score

Maybe or maybe not.. SAT is one of the criteria in having a scholarship in a US University. Well, Don't be nervous, I'm in Yale and be confident. Don't let that one thing in your way as you succeed to your future :)
2 :
Each university and the course has different score requirement, so you will have to check. I would say that anything above 1600 is a pretty decent score. If you think that you are missing on alot of universities because of the score you can try taking SAT again. For SAT preparation you can try examville.com. It has lot of timed practice questions and other useful aids. Hope this helps.
3 :
It all really depends on the college you apply to; if you want to get a lot of scholarships it would probably be a smarter idea to apply to a less diverse school, or one with a low population of students from India, as they'll likely be trying to up their student diversity at the time, and you might be able to find some sort of scholarship open just for being a minority (by US standards). You could also find out if there are any sponsored scholarships available; usually these involve you entering an essay on an assigned topic. It's more work, but can make a big difference. These likely won't be listed on school websites though, so you'll have to go out of your way a bit more to find them. One thing that schools will put a lot of stress on is your overall grades through primary school, class ranking, financial status, family history, extracurricular activities, and course load. If possible, I would retake the SATs if I were you. And apply for a lot of scholarships; there will be more available for private colleges versus public ones, but the private are also altogether more expensive. It would be in your best interest to get as many scholarships as possible in a few schools that you'd like to go to, and see which one is cheaper with all of them factored in. Sometimes a private college can end up costing less because of scholarships than a public one. I hope any of that was of use... Good luck!!

^^ well i didn't go to India but I did go to Japan for a year. I loved it so much, I actually stayed for another year. It's a great experience no matter where you go. Seeing another culture and immersing yourself in it. The festivals were amazing and the people were very friendly (especially my first few weeks when all I could speak was choppy japanese). I was so nervous the night before I left, but I just told myself, this is the chance of a lifetime. Whatever happens, happens. So go for it and have fun!

Try looking through the discussions on cultures-shocked.org. Or perhaps AFS can supply the contact info for someone who has gone there. Good luck!!

It is better to go as a student. For immigration purposes, you will be better off. Being a student allows you the time to learn about the place. As an employee, you need an employer to employ you. Won't that be difficult if you have never been there and you are inexperienced, you are only a fresher.Sart small and you will grow. If you really want to work there, as a student, you will have ample time to inquire directly about jobs while studying and it is also easy if you have some experience living in the place you will be better equipped and your immigration statue will also be better. Students are allowed to apply for work permits after a certain period.

Very Cheap , If you manage to get admission in Govt. College, [ I got my Engg. Bachelor Degree (04 Yr. Degree course) in 500$ (less than 25000 Rs. only], there it is subsidized by Govt., but entrance exams are tough, However in Private college, admissions are easy to get, but the entire education may cost you between 10,000$ - 20,000$ ( 05 Lacs to 10 Lacs ), you can even get the Bank Loans for that, One can easily get the living accomodation in Metro Cities in 100$ per month for students... How Much Money do i have to show the Canadian Embassy to get a Student visa ? question from india?
Hi there !!! i wanted to know the amount of money which we have to show to the canadian embassy for a student visa ? Also how can the money be shown ? Will the loans count ? Also i have dozens of relatives in canada . How can they help me financially to get a visa?

The fee for a Canadian Study Visa is $125 CDN. In regards to what financial documents you have to show, you will have to show officials your last four monthly banking statements, a bank statement from a Canadian bank showing that you have one opened, any financial scholarships or assistance from the college (you can obtain this from the university). You will have to show that you will not become a burden to taxpayers and therefore you should check the cost of living in the town/city you plan on residing. Get an average yearlymedian salary from that town/city and then multiply it by the number of years you plan on studying. For example, if you plan on living in New Brunswick and the average median salary there is $35,000 a year, and you plan on studying for two years, you should have at least one year's salary to cover you while studying UNLESS you plan on workingw hile studying. In that case you will have to present proof of employment while in Canada and most likely officials will waive a large financial requirement before issuing you a visa.

I think you should first contact those schools and ask for an Application Packet. It will tell you a lot, not everything, but you will NOT be admitted without submitting the correct Application. What you should also do is find people near you who went to those schools. You want to sit down and talk to them about it, as personal recommendations from alumni will often go a LONG way with the people making the decision. Do not be shy about asking them for a Letter of Recommendation, you may be the first person to ever ask them and they will be honored by the request. They might have other tips for you as well, LISTEN.
2 :
With a resume like that you can probably get into almost anywhere you want, so find some research that you think sounds interesting. Once you actually get into the lab everything starts to look differently, so you might end up switching your research topic before you find what you like.
3 :
All the information for international students is online at the schools' websites.

You should check out TDC, they have basic pay-as-you-go plans for 100 kroner and you just pay as many minutes as you use for talk and you can add internet and long-distance calling as well. The phone service here is not cheap so don't expect as cheap as you get in India or the US because that just won't happen as everything is more expensive here in Denmark. There are major phone providers everywhere in the city like Telia, Telenor, TDC and Lebara too so you should check them all out for price. If you get a plan, TDC calls to other TDC phones is completey free and unlimited as well. You really need to shop around though to see the best prices as deals and packages changed monthly here.

Does an Indian student in USA have to file income tax return in India?
Hi all, I am an Indian student (citizen), currently studying in USA. Do I have to file an income tax return in India. I do earn some income on investments in India and I do have a PAN card as well. Also, for taxation purposes, am I a NRI? Thank you

You should know more about income tax laws in India than Americans would.
2 :
You are a resident of USA and you should submit your income return at USA: if you have any property and other income in India, you should submit the returns in India through your auditor better to consult an auditor:
3 :
Yes you are classified as an NRI, and if you have taxable income in India from your investments than it is best you file your returns regularly. Some TDS may have been deducted by the Company with whom investments may have been made. This will enalble you to claim the deductions or appropriate such deductions from tax payable.
4 :
It is mandatory to file the income tax return in India if you have income in India... For your status as NRI you must be out of India for more than 182 days in a year...
5 :
well if your gross income exceeds the prescribed limits as per indian law, then you have to file an income tax return but firstly you have to decide your residential status .follow the link .it contains all your answers required http://www.du.ac.in/course/material/ug/ba/tax/Lesson-2.pdf

Question / Query about Pursuing a biotech-related course in a US College (I am a foreign student from India)?
I am planning to do my post graduation in a US college, and am hoping to pursue a biotech / biology related course / degree. I am a foreign student from India, and had dropped biology in junior college (11th & 12th). Hence, i graduated in engineering, and have never learnt biology after leaving school in the tenth. Even so, is it possible for me to pursue my choice of course in biology, and if so then in which colleges?

You can pursue your dreams of bio-technology. Some schools may require special tests or introductory courses. A lot of schools have good Bio-tech programs. I don't know which state you want to go to or how much money you wish to spend, but I'll give you a list of some schools anyways. Marquette University University of Chicago
2 :
I dont think you would need the biology as a prerequisite for your admission. Most of the colleges dont require that and its prefectly ok to apply there. I am in Chemical engg and I guess if you have some chemical engg background it will help you. Also almost all universities are have some research work going on in Biotech area. So you can apply almost anywhere. But your admission will depend on your credentila sna dnot on the biology as a requirement. Hope this helps.

As an international student, there are loads of hurdles to cross. It is not because you are in the UK from India, it simply is just the fact of life. The process of adaptation alone is enough to cause one to be disorientated for a while. Having stated that, the most important thing is the admission. Whether the Student Finance considers you or not is secondary, as I would like to suggest a number of things that you can do to set your studentship on a different financial pedestal. I have included some links in the resource box and I am sure you'd find them helpful not only while you are studying, but even after your graduation from the University. I would like to wish you the very best in your undertaking. Regards, ADE

2 :
It is not to late to take your SAT's take them when they are offered. After taking the SAT's and getting your results back then start applying colleges in the United States. At most colleges they have on-line application forms or they provide forms for you to print out. They will tell you to mail your high school transcripts in and there is also an application fee which usually ranges from $25 to $50 USD. There are many wonderful colleges to choose from in the United States. Brown University is considered an Ivy League School. You might also try some smaller private colleges that contain really good Business programs, such as, Ashland College and Mount Vernon Nazarene University. There student populations aren't as diverse and they look forward to having foreign students.
